Dahl studied law at Victoria University of Wellington and was admitted to the bar in September 2006. Dahl has been a solicitor at John Dean Law Office since September 2006, and practises in all areas of the law, with an emphasis on Family Law and litigation matters.
Dahl worked for some years with Land Information New Zealand, and has expertise in Land Transfer Act matters and electronic registration of LINZ documents. He is also a qualified chef.
Dahl is interested in all outdoor activities, especially sailing. He is a member of the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club. Dahl also has a passion for food and wine and enjoys dining out.

John Dean Law Office was established in 1979 and has been practising as a boutique law firm providing cost effective, efficient legal services and transactions to the Wellington region and throughout New Zealand since that time.
We are located at Level 7, 114 Lambton Quay, Wellington; and all over the World via the internet. John Dean Law Office currently comprises John Dean and Rachael Barton; together with staff solicitors Dahl Calder, and Seth Fraser . We have part time student assistants assisting us, and currently Courtney Reynolds is with us.
